The Community Food Bank of New Jersey is the state's largest food bank. We provide food for 15 out of 21 New Jersey counties, distributing over 85 million meals last year. Our mission is to fight hunger and poverty in New Jersey by assisting those in need and seeking long term solutions. Hunger exists in every community from the poorest to the most affluent.
The Human Resources Communications Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing a communication strategy, increasing flow of communication across the organization and helping position CFBNJ as EOC by implementing a well-defined communication strategy through an ED&I lens. This also includes helping the organization effectively communicate through different channels e.g. intranet, staff newsletter and various staff training and gatherings.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Communication
- Partner with Marketing & Communications to create a communications plan that keeps employees engaged, recognized, and in-the-know about engagement, recognition, and wellbeing, uniting various teams, and departments across a single message and strategy.
- Create dynamic communications content for both traditional and non-traditional channels to support the organization's people narrative, including content development and delivery to capture timely, strategic employee stories for internal and external sharing.
- Align and integrate HR's communication objectives with the organization's strategic priorities, through partnership and proactive planning.
Employment Engagement
- Work closely with key talent stakeholders, including Marketing and Communications to help drive internal and external awareness of company culture, the employee experience and our people's stories.
- Support the organization's efforts to ensure excellent staff experience regarding people and culture related topics.
- Use feedback from the annual employee engagement survey to shape and inform key communication.
- Research, write and produce a variety of print and electronic media including digital content, videos, executive communications, presentations, memos, feature articles, working with partners across our talent team and the wider business, including performance, reward and recognition, learning and development, sustainability, diversity and inclusiveness and workforce experience.
Staff Events & Policies
- Support town halls and other key events for our leaders and staff.
- Support the promotion of comprehensive staff recognition strategies.
- Recommend policy changes or enhancements; identify unproductive internal processes and recommend improvements.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 6+ years of experience in internal and executive communications. HR communications background preferred.
- Experience writing and producing content for a variety of digital platforms.
- Experience managing content and communications strategy.
- Ability to work with and represent all levels of organization, from senior executive to front-line employees.
- Possesses a high level of cultural agility and a strong focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Able to connect engagement and wellbeing activities to overall strategic plan.
- Highly creative/out-of-the-box problem solver with the ability to implement and deliver results quickly.
