Job SummaryThe Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated functions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and recruitment/employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):
- Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies,
- Communicate procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
- Prepares reports for bi-weekly California audit and zero hours.
- Prepares FMLA and ADA notice to employees
- Ensures proper documentation is submitted with requests.
- Tracks FMLA time during employee absences and ensures communication with the station.
- Files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records to conform to EEO regulations.
- Ensures compliance with Form I-9 by sending weekly reports to stations
- Periodically auditing I-9 forms.
- Assists in gathering and preparing information for worker's comp, DOT and 401k audits.
- Assists with the organization of annual open enrollment communications and elections process.
- Maintains and distributes a list of new and canceled employees under each benefit plan.
- Provide assistance with resolving escalated benefits issues.
- Conducts new hire orientation for all corporate employees.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
RequirementsESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
- Human Resources or related coursework preferred.
- Two to four years of experience in a human resource generalist role.
- Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations.
- Strong data analytical skills preferred
- Working knowledge of multi-state federal and state law preferred
- Experience with California law preferred
- Computer proficiency specifically with MS Office, Outlook, and Excel
- G SUITE experience is helpful.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with complete confidentiality.
- Must work with a high sense of urgency and an excellent customer service attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
