KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a network of 20 high-performing, college-preparatory public charter schools. Internally, this role will be called Talent & Equity Coordinator.
The Talent & Equity Coordinator directly impacts the mission of KIPP SoCal by actively supporting the Talent & Equity Team in managing human resource, credentialing, and talent acquisition processes for our organization. They assist with candidate management, onboarding, HelpDesk, human resources procedures, record-keeping, file maintenance, data reporting, purchasing, and other administrative tasks. Projects vary based on seasonal needs.
Assist HR Generalist to complete I-9 verifications to confirm identity and eligibility of employment for new hires, virtually and/or in-person
Act as a main point of contact for administration of and questions related to HR policies and processes, including general HR questions, onboarding, leaves of absence and benefits through the Helpdesk.
Triages team members escalated inquiries or concerns from Helpdesk to the appropriate HR team member for prompt resolution
Verifies employment in response to inquiries such as experience/salary/paid sick leave verifications, employment letters, EDD/State forms, loan processing, loan forgiveness, intern/education programs, etc.
Process non-salary HR Actions and Personnel Change Letters in Kronos HRIS
Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
Provide administrative support for HR team projects
Files and saves documents into appropriate employee files.
Support credentialing information database on Helios and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
Prepare and maintain check requests to the Finance Team
Cultivate a relationship with Credentialing Exam and Exam Prep Course providers: Purchase vouchers and course codes, Distribute and track voucher use
Upload contracts and ensure their signage to DocuSign
Prepare credentialing documents for oversight visits by KIPP SoCal authorizers
Process team member credentialing reimbursements
Prepare and maintain Binder 3A
Assists with recruitment and interview process, including screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer letters
Assist talent managers with moving candidates along in the application process, tracking their status in Lever, and respond with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
Set up and manage candidate visits to KIPP SoCal Public Schools as required
Schedule and manage candidate interview logistics.
Coordinate between talent managers, candidates, and interview team. Includes coordinating phone calls and in-person meetings/interviews
Manage job postings on our job boards and monitor our monthly spending
Ensure high-quality candidate and hiring manager experience
General / Other
May schedule appointments and arrange meetings. Prepares schedules and informs participants, confirming dates and times.
Expense reconciliation, invoicing and other purchasing support
Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
Assist in the development of communications as neededPositively contribute to the Talent & Equity team's culture
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
Solid knowledge of applicable federal and state labor laws (i.e., discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, etc.)
Knowledge of personnel policies and practices
Analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong spreadsheet experience
Proficiency in Google suite: Gmail, Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides, Chat, Meet
Proficiency in Asana, Slack, ZoomExperience with Zendesk
Experience with HRIS, preferably KronosHighly organized, able to handle multiple priorities
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, produce high-quality work, and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Education and Experience
Associates Degree in Business Administration or related fields and/or equivalent experience
At least two years related experience required
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), or SPHR/PHR credential preferred
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation ranges from $18.27 to $22.84 per hour
