Job SummaryThis position will be responsible for supporting Millennium Space Systems in all areas of Human Resources including employee relations, workforce planning, onboarding, recruiting, compensation and benefits, performance management, leave of absences, employee files, and training.
You will have the opportunity to participate in developing a long-term people strategy for a growing company in the aerospace industry. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager.
This position's internal job code is Human Resources Generalist. Our team is currently hiring for level 2.
Responsibilities- Provide HR guidance in areas of performance management, compensation, employee engagement, employee relations, learning and development, training, staffing, organizational change in alignment with companies' goals and objectives
- Work with managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests and aligning with company policies
- Drive employee engagement programs and initiatives
- Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Provides support on benefit and payroll questions or issues from assigned personnel. Elevates benefit and payroll issues to benefit personnel as needed
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains human resources information systems records and compiles reports from database as needed
- Generate reports, conduct analysis, and provide input for decision-making for projects or initiatives
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations and provide separating employee with the required employee separation forms and notifications
- Assists with all recruiting and interviewing efforts for the company
- Supports Learning and Development initiatives through research, preparing presentations and administering training
- Assists with training management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, safety, progressive counseling, and anti-harassment
- Current and ongoing knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
- Maintains compliance with all federal and state regulations concerning employment, such as meal period and rest breaks, timekeeping, recordkeeping, leave and disability management, workers compensation claims, etc.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP certifications or equivalent experience
- Prior experience including organizational development, HR administration and business support required
- Working knowledge of CA state laws and regulations
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
- Experience working with union and non-union employee populations
Preferred Qualifications- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong analysis skills for researching, analyzing, developing, and leading in the implementation of Human Resources related programs and recommendations
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in dealing proactively with all levels of internal and external management, vendor, or agency personnel, including a high degree of sensitivity and change management abilities to intercultural personnel and corporate dynamics

Summary Pay-Range- Level 2: $69,700 - $102,500
