Job DescriptionAs part of the Human Resources team, the HR Generalist is responsible for guiding employee relations, assisting in recruitment and building morale to help increase productivity and retention. As a human resources professional, your responsibility is to help shape our company culture so that it aligns with the organization's values and goals and is sustainable over the long term.
Responsibilities:- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Assist with interview scheduling and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
- Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
- Set up drug screen appointments and process employee eligibility verifications.
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- High school diploma and 5 years of human resource experience
- Must be a fast learner with strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organized and the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and good problem solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite
- UKG or WorkDay experience a plus
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to prioritize work and manage work in a time-sensitive, deadline driven environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Protect and safeguard sensitive information
- Requires organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
