POSITION SUMMARYThe Human Resources Director (HRD / HR Director) is directly responsible for the planning, administration, delivery and evaluation of all the company's Human Resources Services and Programs to include, Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Policies and Procedures Employee Communication and Recognition. The Director will ensure that the Human Resources Services and Programs align with the mission and goals of the Hospital.
The Director will supervise the departmental staff. He/She will participate in planning and process development within the organization and HR Division as required, as well as other duties as required.
Responsibilities- Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the placement of competent, oriented and trained staff at the appropriate timeframes.
- Develops, implements, and enforces HR Policies and Procedures including employment, wage and salary, record retention and transaction processing; prepares and maintains Employee Handbook.
- Advises management and employees on HR issues.
- Oversees, analyzes and maintains compensation and performance management plans, including job descriptions, salary surveys, and annual merit reviews and performance evaluations.
- Evaluates, recommends, and conducts training and staff development programs for staff and management.
- Maintains compliance reports, responds to DOL, EEOC inquiries/complaints.
- Maintains a constant state of readiness to comply with all JCAHO and NJDOH accreditation and licensing standards.
- Maintains and prepares monthly HR Metrics such as new hire, turnover and others as needed.
- Administers and adjudicates FMLA, unemployment and other paid/unpaid leave plans.
- Develops and maintains company's Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Assists in the development and management of the Human Resources' budget.
- Supervises, evaluates and develops Human Resources Department Staff.
- Responsible for administrative oversight of the Occupational Medicine department.
- Adherence to and compliance with information systems security policies and procedures; attend information systems security training when offered and report information systems security problems.
- Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results. Champion diversity efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years progressive Human Resources experience preferably in healthcare, and integrated hospital system or multi-state medical group of $200+ million revenues.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience managing human resources staff.
Licenses/Certifications:- PHR or SPHR certification preferred
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:- The ability to work at the most senior levels of an organization with ease, developing effective relationships, coupled with excellent facilitation skills, communication skills and presentation skills is required.
- The highest ethical and professional standards. Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Excellent knowledge of labor laws (EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA) and HR fundamentals and organization policies, procedures and systems.
- Superior personal computer skills including mastery of Microsoft Office products and database programs.
- Well organized, capable of juggling multiple projects and accustomed to tight deadlines.
- Skilled in gathering, summarizing and reporting information to senior management.
- Excellent analytical, judgment and decision making skills.
- "Politically Savvy" and a team player.
- Excellent attention to accuracy and detail yet possess a "big picture" perspective.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and ability to ensure that standards are being met.
- Must have service-oriented attitude, and solid understanding of effective practices in human resource via in-person and online environments, and strong understanding of current research in related fields.
